I think I'm misunderstanding something, otherwise how would one use an external live monitor?
On Page 252 Barry states that "The component connector overrides and disables the other video outputs."
This hints that when using component out, no signal travels out over the Firewire connection.
Does this mean that if using component out, I cannot simultaneously record to a Firewire drive, e.g. nNovia or Firestor?
I'm looking to have an external consumer-lever monitor that has 1 VGA and 1 DVI-D input showing live footage, but located about 35' from the camera while recording to an nNovia drive via FireWire, which seems like a near-typical set-up, but I'm confused by that statement on page 252; that hints that the Firewire connection is automatically disabled when using component out. Is that what happens when using component out?
Am I just suffering a "senior moment"?
Or is it that Firewire isn't considered one of the "video outputs"?
Thanks for any feedback.
