Hvx200 audio woes!

Hey there,
I just bought my HVX. I went to hook up my Sennheiser ew 100 G2 wireless lav to it and everything is a go...except its really distorted sounding when i monitor though my Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones.
I checked the manual for reasons why it might be like that.
Mic Gain 1 and 2 is set at -50dB
Mic ALC is ON
Sound Monitoring volume is dead centre
and I have to keep CH1 audio volume really low, but its sooo bad, sounds horrible
HELP! I have an IMPORTANT SHOOT TOMORROW! anything i would appreciate!
I'm not shooting in HD, just: squeeze, 24pa

I hooked up my Sennheiser MKH 416 P48 shotgun mic and it sounds great!

Well if you look around there are video tutorials on how to setup ur decibel output on the lav transmitter and how to setup the volumes on the receiver.

is your receiver set to line level out? if so, you need to set your input to line. this can be confusing. people see xlr and think "mic" but it will take either mic or line level. if your source is line and the cam is set to mic, it will always distort... flip the switch and see what happens.
