After shooting for a couple years, I decided to look and see how many hours of operation I've logged on the HVX. I was under the assumption that I could find this under "Other Functions" in the menu, but after navigating there, I only found the following list:
____________
Remote
1394 Control
1394 CMD SEL
PC Mode
Rec Lamp
Access LED
Beep Sound
Clock set
(second page)
Time Zone
Power Save
User File______

Shouldn't it be below "User File" at the end? It doesn't feel great to log more hours of on time trying to find the total hours of on time.

Theres your problem, update your firmware to the latest version and you'll get an operations hour meter.

http://panasonic.sixbullets.net/ - new firmware can be downloaded from there.

Thats pretty neat I never noticed that the hours # count was in there. How accurate is it though? I noticed mine said 47 hours, and there is no way that i have used my hvx that many hours considering i've only used/rechared the batter 4 times sinces i've bought the camera.

Tom, I ecountered the same thing. I was like "WTF? I haven't shot that much?!"

It's my understanding that this is for "hours of operation" - which logs how long the camera has been turned on.

That seems like it would make more sense. I did leave my camera on once until the battery fully drained after shoots because I have been so used to using my GL2 on off switch which is reversed. However 47 hours still seems high, I guess time must really fly by when having fun.. Anyway thanks for letting my know about that little bit of info.

I did that too. Did a shoot, packed it into the pelican case and brought it home. A few hours later I took it out and was surpised how warm it was - it was still on!

Now I double check that I have turned it off before storing.

Just curious, how many hours does everyone have logged on the camera?

I've got 720! (not counting tape drive, which I used when I first got it)
