View Full Version : Vegas problem -- clip video won't appear!

Okay, I'm having a weird problem with Vegas 7.

I'm dragging and dropping a certain clip into the timeline. The clip has both video and audio elements that I need to use. The AUDIO plays fine...but the VIDEO appears to MUTE once I insert it into the timeline. It's strange, because the clip plays fine by itself in the Vegas preview window. But once I drop it into the timeline, it mutes.

I've checked the clip's properties and it does not appear muted. I've also muted and de-muted the clip, with no effect.

OTHER clips in this project are working okay.

Anyone ever seen this? Any idea what's happening?

It's an m2t file (Canon HDV).

When I drag the file onto the timeline, the entire timeline seems to go "MUTE" on the video portion. But it is not actually muted, and manually muting/demuting the track has no effect.

I've probably inadvertently flipped some preset switch...but I can't figure out which one...

I don't know of any preference which would do that. I have Canon HDV footage which imports with no problem.

Open a new project and import the same footage -- see if it does the same.

Okay, will do. Thanks David!

From this image, the TITLE track is SOLOED which means all other video tracks would be muted. Turn off the Solo on track 1 (it's the "!" button).
