I've just shot a few test clips in 1080 24P on my P2 card and imported them into FCP, and FCP automatically changes the sequence settings to 1080 30P. Why is that? I just double checked the camera and it's in 1080 24P.

Thanks...

Under DVC Pro HD Settings in Final Cut Pro, I only see a DVCPRO HD 1080 25P or DVCPRO 1080 30P.

Where is the 24P or 24PA?

I'm also getting what looks like interlacing in my sequence timeline but not in the viewer...i know, one thing at a time, but this is frustrating.

Unless you shot 1080i 24PA, the footage will be 29.97, and not 23.98.

Maybe use the "conform" function within the program called "Cinema Tools" if available. Just right-click on the clip from within FCP, and select "Open With Cinema Tools" and select a frame rate and click "conform." When you get back to FCP, the clips may have to be re-linked/located as they will no longer match - frame rate mismatch, etc.

I could have gotten one or more things wrong in this, but that's my recollection. Good luck. YMMV

I don't see that option when I right-click on a frame in FCP...

1080 30P is the compressor not the frame rate. As long as your frame rate is 23.98 everything is fine. There is not a 1080 24p compressor.
