What was the output, when you made the render? I tried with Mainconcept MPEG2 and DVD Architect NTSC Widescreen video stream. All clips are lower field first. The created DVD is nearly perfect. Did you try right-click on the clips and check Reduce interlace flicker on Video event tab in the properties?

I always encode anything to a DVD as MPEG2. DVD playback is progressive anyway, correct? DVDA would have to recompress and re-render the AVI to make it playable on the DVD; perhaps that is where the problem lies.

DVD playback is whatever the file is -- and whatever the DVD player settings are (usually having to do with the TV it's being played to).

AVIs will always be re-rendered in DVD Architect, because all standard DVDs are MPEG-2.

The best results for DVD will always be to use the DVD Architect templates under MPEG-2. Pick the one which best suits your footage.

Well, if the DVD Architect Recompress Settings (File>Optimize Disc>Video 1) are 29.97, you'll always get interlaced video. Try changing it.
