Render As Finishing At 75%, But Still Going?

I noticed this before and I blamed it on my crumby laptop. I have a new computer now and Vegas 8 is on it. I don't think this happened to me with 7, but I am not totally sure.

When I am exporting through File>Render As> ANYTHING (Uncompressed QT, H.263, AVI...) after selecting the portion of the time line I want to export, it starts going though the video exporting it. When it gets to the end of the video, it is at 75% or 80% then it just sits there for a few minutes with black on the screen. Then it sllloowwllyyy makes it's way to 100% even though there is no video.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Yep, especially with mov files.

It happens to me every now and again, but not frequently enough to notice a set of repeatable circumstances.

Fudge. It happens more than it doesn't for me. It is getting on my nerves.
