Shot some footage with HVX-200 set to 480i DVCPRO50 at 24pa and my FS-100 set to capture DVCPRO50 Quicktime files. Plays fine in camera but once copied to drive Mac cannot recognize. Changed FS-100 to DVCPRO/DV REC Quicktime 24P and now Mac is happy. Question is why and how do I recover my footage from earlier if possible?

is the footage still on the fs100? and if it is, does it still play in camera? if it is, you can use the fs100 as a camera and use fcp capture to acquire the footage.

How do you use the Firestore as a camera to capture the footage?

Through firewire streaming like a tape deck. If the footage plays from the FS-100 into the camera and you can watch it on the LCD, then you could do the same thing to FCP to capture the live stream.

connect the fs100 via the dv firewire port, and then set up your capture settings to match your footage. press play. badabing.

Can this be done in Vegas? Is there a way to dump the unrecognized clip that plays on the HVX LCD onto a P2 card or, worst case, tape?
