I am working on putting together a system for post-production with the Red camera's output. I am not really sure where to start in terms of specs for a mac pro, the amount of storage I might need, and how well Final Cut Studio will work with Red footage.

If money were no object, what would the users of this forum come up with for a sweet, apple based, Final Cut Studio Suite for editing Red.

I would start with a system like this Silverado-designed one. (http://silverado.cc/shop/product.php?productid=872&cat=8&bestseller)

I'm doing just fine with an off the shelf Mac Pro quad core with 7 gig of RAM.

Just transcoded 6 hours (yes 6 hours) to edit and it was ready the next day.

Really not nearly as scary as you think.
