A1 definitely.
Better image control, much better low light. Much better camera IMO.
Have owned both, returned the V1U for the A1.

I don't know, I have the V1U & Im working on a documentary thats quite challenging in different lighting & its so simple to adapt. Im no super pro but I'm doing some really fun things with it & the compact design is easy to move around.
