This could be better served with 'scrippets'.

Any idea how I can pull that off? I AM NOT a techie, and even the simplest of instructions are gibberish to me.

any help to make it easier to follow, I'm up for!

I think the Powers That Be must install the plug-in to use scrippets, but it looks way cool.

A few of the workshop sites use them to post pages for review - and of course I was the one dope that never figured it out.

This, however, I can do in my sleep ....

With a little tweaking, maybe this can work. Just need to align things a little better. Thoughs?

Or is this easier on the eyes ... and note better alignment ...

Images work for me. Easiest way to show format without coding or spending ages aligning text in thread.

Hosting the images is a bit of a pain web.

But to rid yourself of this use below:

Great site to host image files (and gives you the links to paste in threads): Upload images to http://www.imageshack.us (http://www.imageshack.us/)

4) upload to imageshack
5) copy and paste link into thread as image

Will also work great for other fests for posters etc...

example:

http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/1980/scriptbg9.jpg (http://imageshack.us)http://img184.imageshack.us/my.php?image=scriptbg9.jpg%5D%5BIMG%5Dhttp://img184.imageshack.us/img184/1980/scriptbg9.th.jpg

I feel having to click on the image and wait for it to load will slow down a smooth read.

I can host the original size images as posted on of my unused blogs, no problem, and that way keep all the script text ready to read with the other gobbly gook.

I'm also not a fan of imageshack, and I find American Express ads offensive. I feel I'd be selling out to the enemy of humanity by having them 'sponsor' my images.

I appreciate the option, though. Anything beats code.

See above example and here:

http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/1980/scriptbg9.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

you can just paste the code into thread and view and before.

Figured it might be easier for users as not everyone has webspace.

or you can do the whole thumbnail link thing also...

alex whitmer
08-29-2008, 06:28 AM
This certainly looks better.

Let me see what tweaks they have, but I do have to say I really hate sites sposored with non-topic ads (film stuff). I'll do some soul-searching!!!

Images get deleted after some time, right? But this thread should last forever... Can't you use the member upload center?

I know what you mean. But I use youtube a lot and they are heading the "way of the ad".

So use and abuse them and using the method above, people will only know if they right click and check the properties:laugh:

True only last six months. So for a sticky, perhaps the member upload would be better...

Okay, I feel obliged to mention now that for those who do not want to sell out to the enemy of humanity can always host their images on Isara's photo hosting site:

http://www.isarapix.org/

Gives you full-size or thumbnails, and the traffic goes to charity projects.

(I can't believe I beat PK to the punch this time!)

Thanks for the tip, Thartly. Nice site.

On that note ...

Okay, cute as it is, I'm going to skip the scripettes for now. Making me work too hard.

Apologize for the long absence. Life has been kicking the crap out of me. I'm on it Sunday.

That's really funny. Using slang in action is another of my peeves and I just did it!!

C note is $100.00

maybe there's an allowance for this type of slang over in the rhythm department ? (no pun intended). if it flows, let it go (but not at the cost of clarity!).

seriously though, thank you alex. i check this thread just about every day to look for updates. :)

Huge, fat sorry. I'm going to try and publish this as a book, so it was recommended I pull the pages down.

I'm happy to share them privately if anyone here on DVX was using the information. Just PM me.

Bwahahahahaha! I am glad I decided to save them all as a word document when you hinted about a book a couple of weeks ago.

(Don't worry, there are for my eyes/benefit only. If you want me to discard of them and buy your book, I would be happy too :))

I will post shorter articles. need a few days to put some together.

I don't want this to die altogether.
