I'm trying to master my timeline to dv tape using firewire to my hvx from vegas.
However it won't give me a frame accurate print, it is always about 6 frames off.
How do I get it to print correctly.
I've tried moving the record engage delay but it doesn't make any difference.
Any suggestions?

What kind of footage are you trying to print, and what are your render settings for the print?

Just PAL SD, project set to standard pal, lower field first.
the footage was created in AE.
I tried printing to tape telling vegas to insert 30sec bar and tone, 30sec black, footage to start on 1min ( thinking about it now maybe i could tell it to print 29;24 seconds of black ).
Also tried laying down the bar and tone plus black on the timeline with the clip and not inserting any in the print settings.

But what are your render settings for the print to tape?

The same, SD PAL. render from AE was correct, project settings in Vegas are correct and the print to tape settings are correct, all SD PAL ( correct frame rate, field order, aspect ratio etc )
DSE said on creative cow that Firewire isn't frame accurate, that was a thread from 2002 though so not sure if that still holds true.
Although a friend of mine has had trouble getting FCP to be frame accurate through firewire aswell.
Seem a bit strange to me, it should all just be pretty straight forward.
