I've had a huge response to my casting call for my Twilightfest project. Many are asking to see the script before the auditions. My plan was to just send out a few pages. I would like not to reveal the entire script, especially to a large crowd, most of whom will not be participating (only three cast members).
Is it bad form not to provide the whole script? I was thinking of sending all but the last page, which of course has the heart of the story.

I'm not sure how others do it, but for short films I send out the entire script to anyone who will be auditioning.

Hey Dick,
Are you worried too many people will get the story? Or that someone may try and steal it?
There are ways of publishing (Celtx uses an Internet publishing system)... You can also get it registered by the WGA.

I'm not worried about somebody stealing it. Its already copyrighted and I have the film rights. I think I'll just send it out to those who sign up for an audition.

Yeah, I only gave a short synopsis of the script and I had a ton of people sign up for auditions. For me it's more of a logistics problem and a bit of a pain in the a*&. I don't want to waste my time sending out the script to a bunch of actors who aren't going to show up. I've got more important things to do.
