This is a commercial I just completed for my production company. I'd give you a better synopsis, but it would ruin the fun of the ad. You'll understand once you watch it.

It's a quickie - just 40 seconds in length but there's a hell of a lot going on. A lot of this film was made in post - by that I mean, it's a sound designer's paradise. There's a ton of layers going on, but unfortunately through internet compression, it's impossible to hear it all. Nevertheless, it still sounds pretty decent here online.

There are two options for viewing. Right now the video is up at youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxCE00N_4vs)

NOTE: If you go to youtube, make sure to click 'watch in high quality' in the bottom right corner of the video for obvious reasons.

And the video is also up on vimeo (http://vimeo.com/1566586) (where the quality is slightly better).

We shot it one rainy sunday morning on my hvx 200 on mini dv. This camera is amazing. Standard def is so rich and vivid and the movement resembles film quite nicely. We covered the camera with a plastic bag and had someone running around with an umbrella over top of the camera as well. We didn't intend to shoot in the rain, but when god blesses you with free production values... why not take it, right?

The star of the video is a good friend of mine. We attended film school together way back when and he's currently a karate master, training to be a professional stuntman. He's also a very good director in his own right.

Cinematography is by Brendan Ko as well as sound design. This guy's a master at everything. And the film was directed and edited by me. The only cost in the production was the clothes that the star wears, which I purchased at value village for super cheap.

If anyone has any questions about the video and the making of, I'd be happy to answer 'em. Hope you enjoy and I'll probably have a much higher res version up soon.
