View Full Version : How can i key out the white screen on my footage?

I have a blood footage from detonatoinfilms. but its white. i know in fcp u can right click and press composite, and then normal or screen or whatever. and its only the blood. Is htere a way to do something similar like this in afterfx?

You can try color key then chose your white or luma key and key brightness.

AFter FX also has transfer modes. Just use the same TMode you used in FCP in AE.

Of course it works.
Both lumakey or a color keyer like keylight work with white. Use the eyedropper and adjust the key color tolerance value.

Make sure you have transparency checked? The small square box.

try the "multiply" transfer mode

as everyone is saying, use multiply to knock out whites and screen to knock out blacks.
