i use this feature in low light. works great. maybe a stupid question, but ive never noticed any type of blurring on the image. does this feature affect film transfers?

well the lower the shutter the blurrier the image... 1/24 is the lowest id shoot unless you were trying to make it blurry for a certain effect.

Frame by frame through your footage. You will see the motion blur, unless the person isn't moving much.

so the motion can be detected only in frame by frame analysis. because i never detect any motion blur of any type when i play back on monitor

I haven't had the pleasure of working with an HVX yet. But I've when shooting 60i on other cameras, I've tried shooting at 1/30th shutter speed, and the blur was very distracting. Normally what shutter speed is best to shoot at when shooting 24p?

Well yes and no. Move your hand back and forth really fast in front of your face. You'll see motion blur. Will you notice it unless you are looking for it? No.
Here's what it should look like. Video of a guy waving his arms around in various degrees of intensity.
A still at one of the more intense points:

if you frame by frame through it before the picture changes from purple to green you will definitely see it. You'll also see it frame by framing through some less intense areas as well. It looks fairly normal in full motion, but not as much like film as your shutter does at the shutter off setting.

sometimes you have to use this feature though. i was shooting in a boiler room without the ability to use lights. only existing flouresents. set to 1/24 though, the images came out sharp and perfect. Im happy :)

If I set it on 1/24 will I get the "bug eyes" like that video?
