Edited: It's ok I think...just think the pre-selected drive says ISO and might be wrong drive we'll see :)

I have just spent 3 hours rendering in architect and that's after rendering in sony movie maker to get it into Avi format after editing...
Now it has burnt the disc and I go to put it in a normal DVD player and it says error, I then put it into an old fashioned DVDplayer/writer and it says error no title...but DVD architect makes the title.
And next time I prepare this movie will it take 2 hours to prepare? if so then what's the point in a dvd writer. i thought it's supposed to get the job done fast :(

DVD Architect re-renders the movie file because DVDs aren't .avi format; they're MPEG-2. If you don't want DVD Architect to re-render, you should use one of the DVD Architect templates under MPEG-2.

Hi David,
I got it to burn the disc (wrong address) but it's doing that horrible interlace thing...the avi is perfect no interlace nasties, but the finished dvd in pal mode has horrible lines and I;ve looked in sttings

What's probably happening is that you have the recompress settings set to 29.97, which is what it is at default. What this means is that anything that needs to be re-rendered -- and any .avi file will need to be re-rendered -- will be re-rendered at 29.97, so you will have interlacing.

Edited: I just found how to find that part :) I've changed it to progressive as it was on 25fps already :)

Thanks, but I can't see any properties though in the DVD architect application :)

Sorry; should have realized you were in a PAL country.

Look under File>Optimize Disc>Video 1>Recompress Settings.

If it's not there, it may be a difference between the Movie Studio version and the Pro version.

Am I correct in having 2 different applications...the home studio and dvd architect...I've changed it to progressive though in the first instance I recorded all this from normal sony mini camcorder to dvd through RGB cables then I imported into movie studio where it was ok and then rendered as avi and now I'm where I am :)...I think I'm going to have to let it do the 3 hour prepare folder all over again though...I've just realised
