Faking a full moon in post

Is this done through just simply sticking a picture of a moon in there, or is there a more realistic way to get it to look right. My footage is turning out to be pretty shoddy looking when I use live footage.

You're probably going to have to add a number of effects to get it to match your footage, including a little bit of noise.
