After hunting for some time I found these. CU and Macro Lenses with an 82mm thread.

Initial testing prove them to have excellent rez. (They were very inexpensive)

You should post some screen grabs of the different magnifications. I know a few people here, including me, have wanted to see how much closer lenses like yours can get you.

how about a brand name, retailer, and price?

The CUs (which I call Diopters) shift the focus range closer as one would expect and the reason I purchased them. I shoot a lot of tabletop food/products and often find I need focus to start a few inches closer than they do (without using the wide end of the lens)

The #1 Diopter is perfect for this and likely the only lens I need from the kit of 3 Diopters (1,2,4) and 1 x Macro lens

The 10x MACRO can get extremely close and easily fill the frame with the whorl in a fingerprint or a match head. I will probably never use it but will try and find a "image trick" with it.

The brand name is ACE and I bought them in NZ from Trademe (like EBay)

Here they are on EBAY (mine came in a case as per my picture)

Good word of warning if anyone buys them from that source. Make sure you get the 82mms (as advertised). Mine are inscribed as "82mm"

I bought the same ones. was only 30 bucks. I wil shoot some tests when I get back to the states. My only reservations was that they were kind of stored in a dusty dirty place and I had to clean the packaging. but if they work. a lot beter price than the century versions.
