I am pretty sure it is OK to put my DVX100A through the airport x-ray machine. Has anyone ever had problems? How about the cassettes?

I often have to go through x-ray at airports with gear and have never had any problems with either camera or tapes.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the ending to Alexander need to be reshot because they had the film go through an X-ray machine and it fried it all?

Unexposed or exposed but not yet developed film is a different story to video tape. Usually the film producers make sure the film doesn't go through x-ray machines, they have hand search arrangements with their couriers. Video tape is digital and would be damaged by strong magnetic forces, but go through x-ray without problems.

the only time you have a problem with undeveloped film getting ruined through an x-ray machine is when its iso/asa is above and beyond 800 anything under that is fine i've sent 35mm film with iso of 100 & 400 through the machines with no problem i have also done this with my dvx100b and lots of tapes with no problem
