Hi there, im new to this forum. I have a quick question regarding FCP and the audio layers from a MXF file. In FCP each MXF file seems to have 4 audio tracks. Is there a menu setting in the HVX to turn off the 2 audio channels that aren't being used?

Its coming a pain in the ass to edit with.

No. That's simply the way the audio is recorded DVCPRO HD.

Some NLEs (PP CS3, for example) let you remap the audio tracks in the media pool so that you only bring in what you want to the timeline.

In FCP, you should be able to disable some/all of the audio tracks in the log/transfer tool. But keep in mind that when doing so, you'll have to retransfer the footage if you decide you want anything on those tracks.

All four channels are always being used. 2 from the onboard mic, two from the XLR ports.
