The screw mount on top in the handle is stripped out. Has anyone else had this problem & how did you fix it?
Thanks!

The handle is made out of magnesium alloy so I don't know of a perfect way to fix that. Replacement of the top portion of the handle would be the best way. I don't know if we have that part instock.

You could probably use a tap and die set and make new threads, but you'd be forced to go the next size up - and it would become a non-standard size.

Yeah I'd just get that thing above. although if you really want the original "look" you probably have enough metal there to install a helicoil and retain your original 1/4-20 size. Never worked with magnesium though, might want to consult with someone that has before you venture into that route. A good bicycle frame builder would be a good place to start.

Thanks guys!
Just found out the handel is $140.00 I can't go up a screw size, I like the helicoil idea and if that doesn't work the clamp. Since my hvx hangs from a suction sup on a car windshield the clamp might give me a little more play to move it around another inch or two.
Thanks!

Andrew,
Thank you! Emily sent me an email earlier this afternoon with a cheaper price for the part.
Thanks for having someone contact me.
