Shotgun Mic for XHA1

Can anyone recommend a mic to use with an XHA1? The Rode NTG-2 seems popular, but I'm wondering if there are better options within a similar price range (under $400)

The NTG2 is a great mic. I also use the K6/ME66, but it'll run you a little more than the NTG2. Go with the NTG2. FIY, the mic holder on the A1 doesn't fit standard shotgun mics--it's too big. But, there's a cheap and easy workaround that actually becomes somewhat of a shockmount--go to your local Lowe's or Home Depot and in the plumbing section you'll find "#15 O-rings" Put three of those around your mic and they'll fit perfectly in the slots of the A1's mic holder.

xh-a1 and ntg-2 a match made in heaven,....

I vote for the Sennheiser ME-66. I use it on my HVX and it's the best ever.

I vote for the Rode if you have to choose between the ntg-2 and ME-66. Then again I wouldnt personally use either. And again, regardless of what you get, improper mic position will invalidate any advantage one mic has over another - so a well placed NTG2 will work.
