I submitted "Gray Christmas" to Sundance today - It was 'International Short Film #2147' I think ;D
Can't hurt, I figured why not, right? Worst case scenario I'm in the same position as not having sent anything in...!

A trailer, but not the movie itself. I haven't had the resources to host the whole movie (27 minutes) - but it's for the best. Sundance doesn't let in films that have been broadcast on TV or the internet before, so if it was on the web, I wouldn't have been able to submit it.
Maybe it's fate ::)
LOL! ;D It's fun at least. kinda like buying a lottery ticket!

Hahaha, well as far as I know I'm allowed to show the trailer, just not the movie itself :P
It would definitely be online, but I haven't got the space and bandwidth on the server to run it (it's a friend's friend's server, MY friend does our webpage, and his friend is giving it to us for free).
So alas, I cannot. I'd be able to send it through email if anybody has a large enough account (something like gmail for example).

For any of you who still wanted to see the trailer - and it's 720x306 now, not that tiny little excuse I had a few months ago - here it is. The file is about 12 megs ;D

P.S., this technically should go in the Screen Grabs section, but this is the thread where it was asked for. Anyone let me know if I should move it.
P.P.S, Thanks Kyle for the hosting :D
Ah geez, I really wanna see that. Sorry Mike, not to downplay the awesome work you've done (because it looks really good,) but my favorite part is that the girl is wearing red earmuffs. I haven't seen earmuffs in so long! :P
Nice work.

Mike, good news, I finally decided to purchase some hosting of my own, so you can now host your trailer or trailers on it if you want. I get 60GB a month so video isn't an issue with me anymore.
The DVD for this movie is actually going to be available soon I believe. It has been made, Mike and I will keep you guys posted as to when it is going to become available. A thread will be made concerning it for sure. This is just a headsup for people to keep an eye out for it.

Hey looks pretty good. The only thing that caught my eye was the car hitting the guy... It looked like the car stopped before it even touched him, and the guy rolled onto the hood..lol

Yes, I noticed that as well. But, it looks promissing.
All the best

Thanks guys - yeah, the accident effect wasn't that great - but we live and learn :)
It was a digital composite - but I didn't take into consideration when filming the car plate that it would need to go a bit further than where the actor was walking... :-/

I have heard of techniques where it can be done in reverse. Never tried it but Im sure it could work.

That was something we thought of doing - the problem was that in the movie, the actor walks into the frame first - so he'd need to have been walking in reverse, too.
I should have thought in advance, and just done a cutaway, and been able to use the reversed footage for the hit itself, and then the regular footage of the guy walking before the cutaway...
Hindsight is 20/20 :P
