I can't find the previous post(s) on this, but what program can I use to recover footage from the card?

First of all don't touch anything on it, move files to it etc. Put it in your pc and use a data recovery program. I highly recommend getdataback (http://www.runtime.org/).
Recovered an entire drive for me after it was formatted

Thanks. Either I am just having trouble using the programs or none is working with the card. Is there someone who has successfully recovered a P2 card?

Hi guys I just unsuccessfully went through this exercise to try and retrieve/recover some footage form my p2 cards after losing 640GB from a external la cie disk. Here's what I tries but nothing worked.
• purchased Data Rescue II ($USD99.00). REcommended by forum user to get data back form formatted p2 crd. O luck. each 16GB card took 28 hours on the MAC PRO 8core. Retrieved only proxies from P2 as .BMP.. so useless.
•*tried PHOTO RESCUE V3.0 .. no good.
•*Techtool Pro 4 (scavenge mode)
Advice above from previous posters is good. DONT CHANGE anything on P2 card whilst you are looking/recovering. ALso set P2 cards in READ ONLY Mode (slider on end of card).
USing DAta RESCUE IO you can CLONE the card and try and retrieve it later.
There are lots of posts on these forums on this but it seems that sadly many dont have good news on recovering stuff from P2 when formatted.
The simple answer for these contemporary media workflows (cmw's) is to GET THE P2 stuff to another media as soon as you can and then make yet ANOTHER instance of it for working so you have at east 2 instance on two different carriers (Disk/data tape volumes). THat way you will always have access to it. In the field I use a NEXTODI CF ND2525 self powered disk to offload the important stuff prior to moving it to the MAC. (didn't help me recently as I'd already formattedt that disk drive too! lol :( )
SAdly I am resorting now to a QUANTUM external Ultrium LTO4 tape drive for this.
POst if you get a positive result for recovering your formatted P2 ...
good luck!
