I want to use a sniper rifle in woods for filming...It might be a private park that I've rented for the day but can someone tell me if I can legally use one.
Here's the Law article but I still can't make head nor tail of it...Is airsoft and airgun etc.
I just want to make my film lol :)

This is *not* the place to ask for legal advice re: firearms laws.

There are UK filmmakers here, the best thing would be to ask the local police, thats the easiest way. I think 90% of the time they would be ok with it (with air guns).

Speak to your local police unit or the local unit for the shoot location to get authorisation regarding the 2003 Anti-Social Behaviour Act to film in the location with replica imitation firearms. By the law, your use of said replicas is fine as it is a Just Cause for use and presentation in the open.
Just be nice with them and they should be all right. They may ask that a policeman be on site though.

Contact one of those reenactment groups on this site.
Try "2. Battle Group" are nice guys and verry helpfull.

They run into that problem every day and noboddy knows the laws and pitfalls of replica weapons in UK better than they.
By the way, they donīt seem to be verry picky in the UK regarding weapons, .....when I look at those pics :D
