Help! What's doing this?
http://www.dvxuser6.com/uploaded/4396/1218137244.jpg

it looks fine on the camera. When I copy it onto my computer, this happens. I have copied from the camera as USB device. I have copied directly from the P2 card in a laptop. I have used straight MXFs and I have tried using Raymaker and I can't make this stuff go away.

My coworker has a mac and imported the same footage but had no artifacts. So I copied the Contents onto a firewire hard-drive on a mac, and then copied from there onto my PC. Same problem.

I'm using Vegas 8. I just installed 8.0b and that didn't help.

I've been using the same workflow for about 6 months now and have never had a problem. I'm not doing anything different now. AH! Any help would be soooooooo appreciated.

thanks,
adam

If you're not seeing it on other systems using the same data files, then it's probably a codec issue. I'd contact DVFilm.

i think i just figured out that its the USB port on the front of my computer. Using the port on the back I have no problem. Weird. I wonder why the computer didn't give me any kind of error when copying the files.

Try it a few times systematically and see if that's the problem.

I've had the same type of thing happen. For me it's when I have used or am using photoshop and running vegas. Something in the way photoshop copies to the clipboard maybe.
A reboot and not firing up photoshop works.

My problem would happen during editing, not importing. And I use Vegas 7.
I've tried to reproduce the effect but have yet to. Ofcourse it happens when I don't want it to.

But I guess it wouldn't hurt to reboot before importing just to clear to ram and video buffers and see if that does it. But I doubt it by the sounds of it.
