So far there was no need for me to update, since I mostly record direct to HDD.
So anything to look out for when doing the update?
Where can I find the patch and is there a "How to somewhere"?
Thanks guys!

I didn't have any problems. Pretty straight forward. Should be a read me file with the download that will help you out.
Just put the files on an SD card and pop the SD card into your camera and go for it. Make sure you have ample battery life for the update, or very reliable outlet power.

Unless you are plugging the camera into an outlet with backup power, I'd use a fully charged battery. The firmware update takes about ten minutes, and if you lose AC power during that time, you could brick your camera. A healthy battery would give you plenty of time to complete the update procedure.

Thank´s guys!
I´m really hesitant with changing working setups...
Is the update on a Pana site or can it be found on dvxuser?

There was indeed an issue for some people, i guess mostly for those who received one of the early models (2006 batch..), as i remember i heard mostly from people in the states: there was an issue that after the firmwareupdate, a strange sound/noise was recorded on one of the channels, and that was permanent unfortunatly..!
I have no clue if and how it was sorted out, you surely can find some information about it here on the forum...i personally (pal cam from 2006..) just did the update, no problems though..!
Good Luck..!

Somebody has created a great website which consolidates all the necessary downloads and instructions, so you don't have to wade through the Panasonic site. I used it last spring to do my firmware upgrade and it worked like a charm, no problems, camera is working great with 16gb cards.
Its on this forum somewhere, maybe someone can remember the link, I haven't been able to find it. good luck.
Edit: found it - located at http://panasonic.sixbullets.net/ (http://panasonic.sixbullets.net/).
