Maybe if you approached it properly it could work. The story would be key.

Well, looks like you got a character. But what's the story? That's where you need the "twilight".

He will try and overpower the other while trying to have an everyday life.

That could fit a lot of "non-twilight" stories: Me, Myself and Irene or Fight Club come to mind.

Now, if this person has a choir-boy personality and a crazy/psycho personality, and the psycho one is trying to take over this person's mind, and then a murder is committed and it's obviously the psycho, BUT it turns out to be the choir boy personality that is responsible... I would consider that "twilight".

Again, it's going to be all in the story.

thats kind of the idea, either way im going to try writting a little bit of it and see if it fits twilight if not meh.

I would lean towards yes, thinking Star Trek Mirror Mirror. There was also an X file, early seasons that had Kathy Griffin playing two Characters that had the effect you are describing.
