I'm sure there is a way in options to choose how long each photo is when you drop it into a timeline. I need to shorten the default. I have searched but cannot find out how. I am importing tons of photos for a stop animation, and want to drag and drop them. Can someone help with this?

thanks
Kevin

Option->Preferences->Editing

Control-click "New Still Image Length" and move up/down until at the upper limit of "1 frame at XXX fps".

Frames will now be imported exactly at one jpeg per frame.

Loading a bunch of jpegs drastically uses memory. Even a few hundred frame time-lapse can drag the system to a crawl.

Excellent, thanks Pmark23 I have about 95 photos, and I am going to do like 10 or 15 fps. That was the info I was looking for.

Thanks again,
Kevin

Kdawg you once you set the time you want you can just drag the folder into the timeline and they will all be in order.

If they're numbered sequentially, you can "Import Image Sequence."

And make sure the images are under 2K. I usually take them and get them down to a roughly 1280x720 or larger if I need to crop/move them in Vegas. Just don't get up in the 2000x2000 range or you'll start crashing when you render.

Yeah, I remember trying that in premier pro back in the day, and it hung up with larger photos. Thank you guys for all that info. I'll try dragging and dropping the folder on the timeline when I get home. I numbered them from 1 up.

Now, since I used a cheaper digital camera for this sequence the color and brightness slightly change, although it was indoors with lights on the board I was using. I could have just got the video cam out, but that would have been much more time consuming to edit later. I am not going to re do the shots to fix it, I'll just try color correcting a bit. Its not an important clip, but just a fun thing.

Yeah I looked in the explorer window, and they were a bit out of order although when I open the folder outside of vegas they are in order. I'll try that image sequence option.

For this same project I needed a welcome sign for the city located on a busy street. So I woke up early this morning, grabbed the camera, and drove by the sign with my xh a1 hanging out the window. ( I wanted to drive slowly with no traffic) What we wont do for the necessary shot eh guys?
