You said you photoshopped the director to get the clown image - what's your role in the production, editor?

I used to be a manufacturers rep in the audio industry...thus the nice little set-up below. I strongly believe the benefits outweight the butt pain. LOL.

Incredibly creepy, that guy really feels like a sleazeball. The audio kind of pops at parts. Sorry to hear about final cut screwin the color but it still looked good for the most part.

That ball was super cool, when its eyes move I was like Holy Sh*t! Everything looks pretty real even the ball moving on its own, great work!

The guy was a total sleaze bag. Well done on his part.

The playback seemed a little stuttery for me at times. Might be the download.
The ball effects were very well done. The acting a little stiff at times.
The sound was pretty good!

Definitely fit the theme very well.

Nice job.

Ya, I'll copy Mike's words on this one.

I felt the acting, especially by the Mom was weak at times. The coloring, and lighting seemed off at times to (I understand your FCP crashed, so that sucks!)

For every line the little girl said, I found it really hard to hear. I had to listen closely, and at one time, I had to rewind and her again.

She was adorable though!

Creepy guy, fit well. Although, you never really told us why he took pictures. Was he just a mad stalker/creep? If so, then maybe a shot of his basement would've been nice, or his room full of pictures of different kids.

Def. a creepy film, especially a ball with a clown on it!

Although I didnt feel you hit a home run with this, that ball at the start was really creepy. I love the eye movement and when the kid got abducted in the van - that was ACE. Lol.

The ball looked fantastic for the most part, until it went crazy at the end. for me that section didn't quite stay in tone with the rest of it, but that could just be my expectations of where it was going.

really fun one though.

Great film! I really enjoyed this one...loved the Mr. Roger's, "...It's his birthday" line (LOL) and the sunglasses shot in the beginning at :50...GREAT! The score really worked for me throughout. Good story and concept. REALLY cute little girl. Acting was good too. Good camera work & nice movement. If there's anything I can pick at, it would be that some of the outside shots didn't pop & needed som extra lighting...or even someone with a reflector.

Really enjoyed the film...Great job.!

Dude.. I dug it! The acting could have been better.. and the sound seemed kind of muffled... but otherwise I thought it was a pretty cool flick. I really liked the ball effects at the end... and the rolling down the stairs stunt was pulled off flawlessly!

I have to agree unless you have a family like mine which includes Jeremiah Rounds and his wife Lisa Michelle, lucky me huh. Anyway i liked the ball a lot where can i get me one of those? And the Mr.Rogers line made me kind of chuckle. Nice psycho BTW. I didn't appriciate the acting all that much but the story sold it for me anyway. Killer ball thats funny. Good job man.

Perpetuator had a convincing look but acting skills were a little weak. Sage, however, did a good job considering how difficult it can be to direct children. I'm not sure that the story reflected the twilight theme. Cinematically, I think the cuts were good, I also liked the sunglasses effect. At times it seemed a little too soft though. The vengeful ball had to be the best part of the film. Good work, keep it up.

John LaBonney
11-05-2008, 06:07 PM
The sunglasses shot was cool, but my favorite was the contra-zoom (I don't know what else to call it) at 5:42.

Enjoyed it!

11-05-2008, 10:24 PM
Creepy predator. Great use of the ball and like John said, the zoom was cool as hell. You also had the best stunt I've seen so far (at 5:52).

I couldn't stand hearing the little girl's name over and over though... since that is my name too. Oh well, I blame my parents.

Great work!

a rather twisted take on the child abduction theme (which I thought was overdone in this fest, but not your fault. The SFX with the ball I thought were classic.

cool story, although i am not a fan of child abduction stories. you had some neat shots, the van, the sunglasses, the stunt at the end, even how you kinked the body out at the end, i was wondering if that pose was really possible...

acting was good! the mom was a little stiff but for acting with a child, really good. it was predictable but it was still fun to watch the ball beat the stuffing out of the guy.
good job!

Wow...nice film. The story concept was pretty cool. The acting was good, especially from the little girl although it was hard to make out what she was saying sometimes. The jittery almost dreamlike framerate was cool but it was a little overused which kind of dropped down its effectiveness a little bit. Great work on the FX shot and I really like the design of Wally. Good job man!

Love the fact that the creepy ball turned out to be the hero. What's that clown got in store? Hmm. Budy Higley was convincingly creepy and everyone else was just as convincing. Especially Wally Bally. I think I read someone saying, "best use of ball." I do agree. Look forward to more!

Nice use of the ball element. Really cool film. I hope to one day make a film as good as this. Thank you.
