A small scene that I edited as my Demo. Some people complained about the EX1's audio, it has never given me any problem at all. As usual, Comments and Constructive Criticism are really appreciated.

Nice work, very "filmic". You did not abuse of the Letus, it rather seemed you shot with the lenses at f4 or even closer? I know you on this forum as somebody who favours the HVX500. Given the not too shallow DOF of this reel, do you think you would have been able to achiev something similar with the naked HVX500?

I was very impressed with the color corrected version of the footage. It did look very filmic and well shot.

Yes, it is possible to achieve that shallow DOF with a 2/3" camera. 2/3" camera has a dof of approximately of a 16mm camera. If you dont mind the rolling shutter problem, wait for the Scarlet to come out. Shooting with a 35mm adapter is NOT a pleasant endevour.

That´s exactly what I´m thinking. Shooting low budget also means shooting more in less time. Adapters seem quite contraproductive to me in that sense. Scarlet sounds nice but who knows when it finally will be on the market. (I´m quite sure the "big" ones will roll out their own Scarlet killers: AVCHD + a sensor like the one of the Casio Exilim EX-F1 + full manual controls. Would be possible for under 2K)

Dxmetal, forgot to ask you: At what f-stops did you shoot the footage?

eh - not the biggest fan of this footage tell ya the truth ... i duno if it's the acting or what, but they both seem like people you'd find off craigslist for free. shots and framing seemed pretty simplistic. everything is wide! couldn't the driving up shot be done in one shot rather than 3? CU of the wheel needed? was the insert of the snappies going into the pocket absolute necessary to the story? just seemed very video-ish, film student project to me ... i don't wanna hate, but you asked for Constructive Criticism !! maybe i just have to see the full thing : )
