Does anyone know how to create an animated button, not a simple swap behavior, but a button that actually goes thru five or six frames before stopping?

If you don't want behaviors (like "mouseover") why not just animate a GIF and assign it as a button.

I do want a mouseover but like the resident evil website, it doesnt animate until a mouseover. I thought there was an easier way then creating multiple gifs rather create on page then copy and paste it into different frames and create a fluid animation. Oh well.

What you're looking for is something that Flash is much more capable of doing. Flash can take vector objects and create interpolated animations based on the first frame to the next key frame and keep it smooth. I believe you can then export that into fireworks and assign the animation as a button object so that mouse overs will create the animation. It'll take a little doing, but I believe that's the best way.

Yeah, gotta agree with THiNSPiRiT. Go with Flash for that kind of animation. Even if you don't know Flash, doing a simple animation isn't that hard to learn if you go through Macromedia's online help.

I figured I could probably do it that way, so why can you add multiple frames to Fireworks?
