Just wanted to give everyone a heads up as I am currently putting together a class action lawsuit against all DVXUSER members.
I’ve been using the internet since CompuServe was charging $5 an hour and never have I been sucked into a site as much as I have since discovering this one.
I find myself spending way too much time here and its destroying my life (Hence the lawsuit)
And the posts just keep on coming – I turn away for a second - and there are more! I cant get off the site. I’ve lost my job, my wife has left me, my pets have died, can’t remember my last shower. I ran out of food two days ago but don’t dare leave...
Every member will be named but some of the lead defendants:
Jarred – Well, you started the whole thing now didn’t ya!
Barry Green - Please, no way this is ONE person. Way too smart and way too prolific! Some kinda super computer I would guess. (Mater of fact there are dozens of “people” on this site just way too smart – Maybe a mainframe…)
TC – Can’t count how many times your wit has cheered me up when down (As my wife is driving away in my car for example)
disjecta, iamloser, Rich Lee, Bob Gundu, Matt McDermitt, Patryk Rebisz, (and others) - Clearly using 35mm film, transferring it to digital and playing us all for suckers saying its “MiniDV”
Even as I type this I’m sure dozens of new posts have popped up and I will have more reading to do! (So hungry… so tired… so lonely…)
PLEASE – Shut this site down before I have nothing left or starve to death (or notify the authorities to swing by and pick up my body in a few days before it starts to smell)

Dude, looks like you need to get away from the computer for awhile.
Curl up with a good book... (I have one, Spot has one, etc...)
Or maybe sit down and watch a DVD (the DVX DVD perhaps, or Gary Kleiner's Vegas Training DVD, or Nathyn's Mask of the AntiChrist...)

dakotapod, I admit it, I was wrong. You were right, I don't even own a DVX, everything I shoot is on 35mm film and I have a deal to get it transferred at the highest quality and then optimized for the Web. I was wondering how long I could get away with it.

Speaking of Barry's omnipotence, wasn't there a thread a while back about how he's actually a "bot" and not a human? Somewhere there's a locked door with a "BARRY GREEN" plaque on it, and inside, there's a heavily air-conditioned closet full of Power Mac G5's all chained together and attached to the web via T1. There he is, all 800 Teraflops of him. It's probably in Jarred's basement.

Well, it’s a little known fact, but the entity we call Barry Green is actually comprised of three Dell Poweredge servers named Barry_Red, Barry_Green and Barry_Blue.
RedBarry does all the research, BlueBarry does the writing for the book and GreenBarry sits here on DVXUser with the sole purpose of eradicating any and all gaps in the general knowledge of video and film technology.
The original version, Barry 1.0, was comprised of three IBM mainframes named Barry_Y, Barry_Cb, and Barry_Cr, known collectively under the name Barry_ ITU-R BT.601/CCIR-Rec.601.
But they formed Voltron and few off into space one day, leaving Jarred to program the next version.
Oh, Barry_IRU-R BT.601/CCIR-Rec.601…I wonder what strange universe you’re videotaping right now…

There is no “Barry Green” After doing some research I have uncovered the following information: (Also found out who really shot JFK too)
B – Bionic (adjective: Having anatomical processes that are enhanced by electronic or mechanical components.)
A – Automated (adjective: operated by automation)
R – Rapid (adjective: done or occurring in a brief period of time)
R – Response (noun: the speech act of continuing a conversational exchange)
Y – Yen (verb: have a desire for something or someone who is not present)
“Green” is just the system design teams inside joke playing on “Big Blue” … Big Green.
** And yes, It’s in Jarred’s basement ;)

what you speak of! you are nuts or only not typing. this bag is good for big fish of the sea. if you finding that wheels spin too fast , just slow down on the brakes. you can believe that for weather will not be changing but the ducks are still quack. if there be 2 or 5 there is always more than earlier. be cool when you find it because there are people hope. this is real and not in the middle. i actually would reccomend you get barrys book and read it as well... or go on some dates(if your married , you and your wife can go out) and get out and get inspired by the people out there for your next film. do be heavier than sand becuase the reson all of us are going is more. you have to fly higher than not swimming. if you really are not wanting the wind to blow. even if there is a water.
