Are you guys actually doing Noir? Every fest people want a NoirFest and we get a theme that could be used with Noir and no one does it.

I was dead set on horror. But now I'm thinking of blending a bit. Something like a mix of Carnival of Souls and You've Got Mail perhaps.

With a twist.

Uh, hard to tell considering we haven't gotten the official rules yet. But if I do get an entry together (difficult, considering I'm moving to Korea in August), 80% chance it will be comedy.

Damed Blaine - now you have put that Noir thing in my head.

Till I saw your post my film was in full Technicolor - now all the time I go thru the scenes they appear in black and white in my head, I just can´t get the color back into it.

It doesn't really matter what the rules are where genre is concerned. They try to make the themes open to essentially any genre.

I am realizing I post more real posts than I give myself credit for.

Bollywood... definetly Bollywood with just a little bit of 70s slasher thrown in. But no twist, too many twists in film festivals, get's insulting after your 3rd or 4th film.

Bollywood movies are great. I am not doing a twist either. Not because they are bad, I just don't need one.

I'm looking forward to another comedy from you!

FAT MONSTER is going to move to the sidelines and enjoy watching you guys kick butt this time. Somewhere down the road we might jump in again I suppose. For instance, we've always wanted to do something with SABI Pictures and maybe some night we'll get Forsman drunk and con him into collaborating on an entry. Or, as we add new guys to the FAT MONSTER team it might be a way to let some new blood stretch their wings.

Right now we're pursuing several opportunities that arose from the screening a week ago. One producer who saw O2 at the screening has offered us a deal to produce a promo for a new television show that we are probably going to take. We're also in discussions regarding producing an episodic series that would run on the web. A major studio would fund it with a possibility of migrating to a broadcast run if the response is good. It's no secret that many of the studios are looking hard at the web. As one producer explained to us, it's a whole new paradigm with niche audiences (but with comparatively microscopic entry costs) so the studios are looking for independent production units that can shoot high quality on low budgets. Instead of 30 minute shows they are looking at 5 minute productions or even shorter. Apparently the asian market for cell-phone viewing is predicted to be enormous.

Thus, there is a lot of interest now on the part of studios and independent producers to find small production shops that can shoot beautifully produced shorts from soup to nuts. Hopefully DVXUSER will become an incubator for this growing market and continue to put on screenings that showcase talented members.

So, Fat Monster is going to enter under a different name, got it.

Just kidding.

Congrats to the Monster House for picking up a webisodic. We shoot the first episode of a Webisodic with pre-distribution set, two major outlets. As happy as I am that it's actually funded I still do not see the value in short webisodic content, especially low budget content.

Seems that you would need the same big budget concepts that run concurrently on television to attract audiences en masse so that advertisers want to advertise on those sites.

Then again, I really dunno too much about it and I'm gonna enjoy shootin' it up!
