This site has some nuggets that I think even Jack Stanley would grudgingly admit are valuable:

HOLY CRAP! Talk about valuable information!

Wow, thanks Mark. I have always thought it was okay to use my own personal style when writing. I didn't realize so many things were mandatory.

By the way, it didn't work. I noticed the fact that that picture was the same on eahc page. Then I saw the link and promptly exited the page. Excellent try, though, friend.

Some good points, arguable, but good.

You wouldn't get this from any other guy. Seriously, Mark, your contributions to this community are invaluable. Thanks again.

No matter how many times people bring up these same points, I never seem to learn my damned lesson.

You know... I almost fell for the other "standard screenwriting formulas". This explains everything. It's just... The truth.

I never click a link of yours without first checking the URL... I was pleasantly surprised to see it wasn't a rickroll this time

Thanks for the link, man.

Later,
Jason

If my Flash is screwed up so that I couldn't see the video play, is it still technically a Rickroll because I clicked on it? :D

Sometimes it takes four or five sessions to get the PDF to download.

Yeah, there seems to be a glitch. Just keep trying. Do it about 20 - 30 times. I pinged the site's server and that is the largest possible loop the bandwith could support. If after 30 tries you still get the same problem PM Mark Johnson and inquire about purchasing his patented "NOOB forehead stamp."

I love how the first several posts everyone was so dedicated to the joke. How maliciously dedicated we are. :)

Dedicated, or everyone that clicked on it had the mindset "if he got me, he might as well get everyone"

What's funny is, I had forgotten about this information and when I saw the thread I took another look and realized that as of late I have been falling into my usually bad writing habits. Thanks, guys.

For those new to this part of the forum, it's worth posting the link to these great screenwriting tips again:

Yeah I definitely did find some useful stuff their and nothing begrudging about it.

I was expecting the same old tired rehashed stuff, but man that really opened my eyes on a few things.

Thanks for the link!

Yeah it happened to me the first couple of times, too. - Mark hosts a lot of his files on a sister server of YouTube. He has some connections with the team and occasionally browsers will misfire when you try to download his stuff.

Give it a few more tries. If that doesn't work, try another browser.

Great stuff, Mark! I made some notes for myself that I'll keep at my desk. It's amazing what a few pointers can do.

Also, if the above doesn't work for you I took the liberty of hosting his PDF files on my own server.

Go ahead and check the link. I promise it's not a Rick Roll.

For someone who's new to screenwriting, those guides were invaluable. I strongly urge anyone who's ever thought of being a Hollywood writer to read those guides. The advice was spot-on!

Jeff Anderson

Even if you ARE a hollywood screenwriter you should read these. Something for everyone here. Thanks for hosting these on your server there Kyle in addition to Mark's. You're a good man. Dont know whats up with that Youtube crap, Mark needs to get that straigtened out. Just tested both servers and both work fine for me.
