What the heck does "Bump" mean?
If this is a sincere question...
The term "bump" is used when one wants to revive their thread and bring it back to the top of the list... sort of bringing it back from it's buried state (from page 2, 3, 4, 62, whatever)
Also, that click in your camera.... it's normal.
Richard J. Johnson

It was sincere. I had no idea why I kept seeing that. Thank you.

Thanks. I am nervous about it. There are so many talented people here. I shot this real grimy. I did not want to use any extra lighting or special effects. I skipped the de-artifactor and left all of the DVX grain in, I think it works. But I could be wrong. This is a dirty one.

Congrats on getting this uploaded! Now we just wait and see. I will be sure to view and comment. I watch & comment on all the films in the fest...then I usually watch them all again...THEN vote.
TimeFest was great because Susanne G. created a PDF spreadsheet with all the films, titles, user name & columns for rating and comments...it was a big help. (I hope she does it again...hint, hint.)

When it's done I am sure it will be Ill. I wish I could have gotten someone else besides myself to score it and do the sound design. Herman is dope. Maybe nextime. Either way your film will be the first I watch for sure. :)

Hey man, not bad of a short for your first entry.
Neat story, really clever.
There were some compression and audio issues but we'll leave that aside.
The acting was good overall, but the voiceover in the end did not work for me at all, it didn't even sound like the woman at the end.
Really nice blood splatters as the guy was hacking the girl in the beginning.
Thanks for sharing,
Robbie

It was good ... cool scene in the garage with the hacking
Having him see his own death felt a bit predictable but then you spun it nicely with a second person with the same ability.

Good job! Interesting edit. I really like the story line, even if it was predictable. Yes, there were some audio glitches, but nothing crazy. I think you "crossed the line" in the OTS shots...I think? (I'll have to go back and check again)
All in all, you made an enjoyable film...congratulations to cast & crew!

Nice film. Mia is beautiful - is she single?? Ha-ha! I thought the acting was very well executed except for the lead guy's VO. There didn't seem to be any feeling in it - almost like he was reading, but that's just my opinion and I could be way off. The killer also did an excellent job. I thought it was a good story although I didn't fully understand the guy's purpose. Maybe I'll go back and watch it again. Good job and glad to see you in the fest.

Yes she is single. And She is fly. We were shooting today and her car burst into flames in front of my house. True story. It is totaled. :Drogar-Dum(DBG): I'm glad you checked it out. I'm very happy to know it doesn't completely suck.

this had two things that are red flags for me; interlacing and torture porn. Having said that, I thought the story was constructed well and gave us a nice payoff in the end. There were interesting edits here as well. Nice job and keep at it.

Very interesting idea, rather unique. I didn't like the B&W, but that's my opinion. The music was overdone, but my biggest problem was the acting. It was very poor. I mean it started well, but once we get to the serial killer and the victim, well looks like she doesn't mind being killed. The killer wasn't that great either, it felt like he was doing this simply because it was on his checklist. And the final "seer" had a couple moments that were fine, but she was so pissed off and yelling, I couldn't allow for suspension of disbelief.

Pretty good short.
Visually, some interesting shots that were well constructed. The OTS shots of killer and victim(garage) I thought were well suited. Though in the same instance, i thought the lighting didnt suit there. He was fully lit whilst she was in shadows, almost could have been in reverse.
Noticed a few black and white shorts in the fest, and I cant say I am a fan.
Sound, was a mixed bag, nothing BAD, but a little up and down.
Story wise I thought it was a cool concept. I am not a big VO fan , Id rather see action/dialogue tell the story, but hey thats me.
Good work.

Thanks for checking it out! I did not use any lighting at all really just an old flour. my dad had hanging in the garage. But It should have been reversed now that I watch it again. Great observation. I have run a recording studio for over 10 years yet I suck at audio in the field. It is just a completely different monster. I thank you for your honesty.

Hey nice film. I'm not gonna go ballistic on your acting. I thought it was well enough. Sure the film was a bit roughly made, but the story telling was strong. That's what stood out to me. You can have bad everything (not that you do here), but good story telling will always come to the surface. Good work on that.
One thing I had a question about. If the killer was so worried about a witness to his murder, why kill the witness in front of two people in a public place? Obviously, it can be summed up by saying, ‘duh, he’s crazy.” Just wondering.
Overall, I found myself enjoying your film. Looking forward to your next.

I really liked the way this opened. I wish you explored that avenue more aside from the torture stuff.
The music also really seemed to go well. I liked it.
The ending was right on the money and you did well capturing the theme of the fest.
Nice job.

Good job filthrich. I also felt like you had a really strong beginning. There was some nice shot composition in it and like many have said, some nice editing choices. There was a little stiffness from the actors at some moments but they did a good job overall. I like where you took the story and there was some good lines in there too. Just be careful of crossing the line in your conversation shots. Nice film man!

This was a good flick, man. Great job.
The opening was great and really set up the premise well. Nice use of DOF and framing. I thought the acting was pretty good, too.
The murder scene had that Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer vibe. And, from me, that's a huge compliment. Realistic, disturbing, very affecting. Maybe I should start to worry about you. ha ha
The only issue I would have with the film is that the ending bar scene didn't seem to live up to the films potential. Maybe it hung too long on the conversation, I dunno. I can't seem to put my finger on it. I think with a little tinkering, Foresight could be taken to the next level.
Great work. I'm excited to see what you come up with next.

Great job! You've got some really great shots in this. My favorites are the basketball player stuff - very pro looking. The idea was very good and certainly fit the theme. The acting was a little uneven. The psycho was good, but his victim wasn't very believable. The girl in the bar was very good. She has real screen presence, and you should consider making your next film with her in the lead.

Thanks for the input! I have Used Tyiesha (bar girl) in every one of my films so far...(all 2 of them:)) I like her. I am still not a good director of actor performance because I am doing everything on set. Thank you for checking it out and giving me your honest opinion.
good film!
liked the idea and the twist at the end. the above poster is right, the actress at the end is awesome! the lead is good too, was twitchy and nervous. don't get why he was carrying a bottle of water to the garage door though. would rather see more of him wandering around being haunted by different people dying. cool idea. would also be cool if he was also calling people before they died too. that would add to the twist at the end - he's calling people, trying to warn them- they don't listen - all the while he is being called and he doesn't listen.
nice work, i like the black and white too. great shots of people dying in the beginning too, especially the dude with a mouthful of foam, ugh! best shot of dead person award!

Thanks for checking it out. The water thing was just something that he always had. I got more into it in the first cut which kept coming in at 9 minutes. I never thought about having him call anyone but that could have worked as well. thanks about the guy in the garage, He has an entire death scene where he Overdoses on Crack. I show him smoking rocks and all that. :Drogar-Evil(DBG): But it would not fit into the 6 minutes. once the fest is over I will do a director's cut for anyone that wants to see it. Thanks again. I may PM you on some of your lighting technique.

good acting. I'm not a fan of slasher stories, but this had a nice twist, especially the way each chose to use their gift. however, thought the B&W didn't work. wasn't lit well for that and was kinda flat.

Overall i liked it, the story was good and interesting. I think you could have gotten more out of the actress getting killed in the beginning, I think there would be a lot more screaming when being killed, but who knows. Good job though!

I liked your concept and the twist ending. Your editing was cool too, especially in those flashy sequences. The B&W worked out well and gave a Zoney feeling to it. I got what you were going for with the story (I think) but it could've been a little clearer. Nice Job.

I liked your concept and the twist ending. Your editing was cool too, especially in those flashy sequences. The B&W worked out well and gave a Zoney feeling to it. I got what you were going for with the story (I think) but it could've been a little clearer. Nice Job.
Thank you for the input!

Hey man,
Just caught the flick. I really really liked it. The black and white looked really really nice. Nice lighting and locations. A good variety of locations too. I really liked that.
I though the acting was very good as well. Maybe a little too many expletives in the script but otherwise, I enjoyed the way the cast delivered it. Not sure there was enough panic or fear or whatever emotion you would have before you get cut up but I think your actress there seemed kind of calm for that happening to her. Her movements didn't seem erratic enough either and there didn't seem to be much of a struggle from her to get away or anything like that.
I really liked the story on this one. I thought the twist could have been plotted out a little better. I liked the twist, I just wish there was more that we could see of it. It just seems a little random that he would end up in the bar that she's in if she can see his death. And doesn't he see it earlier? Or does he think he's going there to see her die? It becomes a little vague because he should be able to see his own death, shouldn't he?
Otherwise I liked the story and the ideas behind it. And it looked nice so very nice work. Looking forward to more in the future.

I think most people kind of understood what is was about. I need to learn that just because I write it, understand it, it does not mean everyone else will. But I have to make them understand through good storytelling. I'm still learning and can't wait for the next fest. :dankk2:

Nice film. Good concept, good acting and I like the B&W. Also really like how you hold on that two shot in the bar with the man and girl... You let the performances carry the scene for the most part rather just getting tons of coverage. I like the twist with the girl. Nicely done! Thanks for sharing.
