Nice, new info. That's a great line up there I hope they will come through for you.
Also, re: the hand held camera work. I loved it. I assume you are talking about IFHY, I felt that that syle coupled with the improv made for a more realistic piece. It was raw and it was sporatic and I think that created one hell of a good viewing expirience. But that's just the opinion of a guy who is simply (as Tommy put it on Friday night) "The top of a penguin's head."

I sent an email to Matt Garrett inviting him to be the cinematographer on "TWILIGHTFEST PROJECT CODENAME: SWEATY ARMPIT". As best as I can remember, I met Matt in the Heart of Now thread. You can actually witness that event by reading the post where he says he sent an email or pm or something to me.
Matt came in for an interview and I new I wanted him on the production. I didn't know in what capacity that would be yet (and neither did he), but I knew he had the right kind of enthusiasm for filmmaking that Sabi was looking for.
Quickly, Matt found his home in the camera department and he and I worked closely executing the look, feel, framing, mise-en-scene, and overall visual aesthetic infused into the handheld camerawork. it wasn't long before he new what I wanted without even having to suggest it.
http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/4889/hon4ra1.jpg
the most amazing thing that happened were those couple days where Matt was so perfectly in tune with the cast (who was often improvising heavily), locked into a perfect dance with them -- looking at just the right person at just the right moment, and allowing the camera's "attention" to flow from beat to beat naturally, organically, based on the choices the actors were making.
Because of the experience of working together and that shorthand we've developed, Matt is, at this very moment, the most qualified person to execute my vision. yes, it's true... he completes me.
I'll let you know what he says.

Agreed. I said it before and I'll say it again: IFHY felt more real to me than other films, not just because of the heavy reliance on improv, but also because of the hand held/sporatic camera style. I loved it, but I know I will love anything you do regardless of the camera style.

i don't think this will get made in time. the idea has turned into a feature-length one. and my involvement with A Lonely Place For Dying, As The Dust Settles, DIY Days, From Here To Awesome and my own films, Heart of Now, IFHY, White Knuckles and Moments is making this nearly impossible. sorry guys.

we had a stuntman come in one day on Heart of Now to train Marion Kerr on how to take a fall. which essentially came down to using your forearms to break the fall (and not your wrists). and that was the singular thought in my mind as I flew through the air. that i why my arms are banged up. but better that than two broken wrists. thank you, Jonathan Eisley.
Jared Meyer

Wow, sorry to hear you got beat up. I coulda used that lesson in falling a few years ago. Fell off of a garbage can and landed on my wrist. Was in a full arm cast for 4 months. So yeah, you're lucky. :)
