Hey,
So i just upgraded from my macbook pro to a new mac pro, which is absolutely amazing; however, i am having a couple different problems.
On the mac pro i have plenty of ram and im running the newest update of leopard and the newest update of FCS 2.

First off the computer will not read the camera when i plug it in. It used to work perfectly fine on my old macbook pro. I downloaded some drivers but for some reason it wont read it. When i put it into pc mode it doesnt read the cards and the lights next to the p2 cards in the camera turn off. Kinda bummed because i can not offload anything at the moment.

Also i can not play .mxfs. I never was able to with my macbook pro and on this machine i can not either. I tried downloading a couple different things and it didnt do anything.
What is the program i need for this, because Sometimes when my camera gets hit or something during a shoot it wont work on log and transfer so i had to drag and drop creating mxfs and its kinda a pain, especially since they wont play.

Thirdly i was running my macbook pro as an external hard drive threw fire wire, and somehow it accidently got disconnected once when it was plugged in and since then it has not been able to work.
Anyone know anything?

Sorry for the long message, any help would be amazing.

Thank You,
Bentley

"A couple of drivers" and "downloading a couple of different things" isn't really helping to diagnose your issues.

You need to fully explain what you including how you installed FCS2 on the new machine.

Also, how are you trying to "play mxfs" and with what?

panasonic.sixbullets.net has the drivers you need. from the p2 drivers to p2cms(allows you to play mxf files with quicktime like you asked)

also, you shouldn't drag and drop using the finder. please refer to barrys post of mac workflow using p2cms

your whole post was very vague so like david said, there's not much we can suggest for you without knowing certain details

Try USB. If you can see the P2 folders that way, your Firewire connection is (possibly) defective.
