Yes. You will need to install updated drivers for your laptop.

You can navigate your way to the driver that you will need by starting here:

i downloaded and installed the drivers to my laptop and it won't read the p2 cards still.

is there something i'm missing?

david i downloaded the p2 driver from your link and it was the link that read:

Windows P2 Drivers

32-bit driver for all Windows OSes (https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/pro-av/support/cs/csregistp2m/soft/pcdriver_win32.zip)
released in December, 2007.

i'm on a pc laptop running XP

when i insert any of my p2 cards (4gb and 16gb) the cpu doesnt recognize it.....what could be the issue??

you need to uninstall the previous drivers first.

Then, restart your laptop.

Then, insert a freshly formatted card into your laptops pcmcia slot and begin setup. You should see the p2 drivers for pcmcia as the first option. Otherwise, you would see usb drivers (I think) as the first option.

So, just make sure you have a card in your laptops slot when you begin the install of the drivers, and make sure it is freshly formatted if possible.

Once done, restart your computer and it *should* work.

Thanks for the info in this post! I ran into same problem with a new 16gb card not being recognized on my pc. I live in a MAC world and installed this a while back and so have forgotten the details. I just use a pc for offloading cards right now, so please excuse the basic question. Can someone let me know the specific files to uninstall before installing the new P2 drivers- sorry for the basic question.

Also Jason's directions mention a newly formatted 16gb card. The 16 I have is full.. is that going to complicate or chagne things?

Thanks!
