What resolution are the sensors from the HVX200a and HPX170?
The original HVX200 has 960*540 pixels.
Is there any improvement?

On Pansonic site it says effective resolution of 1.1 million active pixels with a spatial offset.
What does this mean?

Panasonic uses a very popular technology called pixel shifting to get the effective resolution from a small CCD. Google "pixel shifting" to find out more info about it.
