witch is better for puting video up on my mac a camera with usb or firewire.im trying to find a cheap camera that will take the abuse when I log and capture.

Depends. If you're capturing from tape, I don't think you'll find anything but firewire. If you're using AVCHD (card, disk) it's all USB as far as I can see.

I like firewire

My GS500 captures from tape through USB, but needs firewire to write back to tape.

As people have said, it's not that either is better, it just depends on what your camera uses. So I'd choose not by connection but just choose the camera you want.

Specification-wise USB runs at 480mbps, Firewire at 400. In real world performance I think they are about the same, though.
