It has to me. Iron Man was the best so far IMO. Hulk is second. Everything else i felt ripped me off. Hancock-not great, The Happening-not great, Indy 4-Not great. SpeedRacer-Razzie award winner for sure. This is the worst summer line up in while. I hope the dark knight is as good as they say it is. And the mummy better not suck. Hollywood is really starting to piss me off. I am losing faith.

Why the razzie suggestion for Speed Racer? It's a fun, faithful adaptation of the cartoon.

Speed Racer was a disaster IMO. My kids even hated that one. And they're kids!

Wait until Batman and Hellboy. So far they have gotten stellar reviews on RT.

Amen brotha, those are the only two movies with directors who don't have downs syndrome.

Iron Man rocked and WALL-E was brilliant!
The Dark Knight looks great and Hellboy could be good.
Not the best summer lineup but not the worst either. I guess we'll see how it wraps up.
I still want to see Get Smart as well.

Funny, I was thinkin' this summer line-up was pretty cool.
Iron Man, Hulk, Hellboy, Batman, Wall-E.
Get Smart was disappointing despite Steve Carrell and Anne Hathaway both being awesome and some very funny moments.

Wall-E is so good it should overshadow any letdowns this year....period.

I guess I just never equate Pixar movies with summer blockbusters. They're in their own category and seldom if ever disappoint.

I do the same, but its still in the lineup this summer..and the fact you might get a "down" feeling from all the movies you see in theaters that don't live up, you always got a Pixar movie to lighten the load on the rotted brain from all the crap you end up seeing.

I've never been disappointed with a Pixar film. Cars was Dreamworks right? Dreamworks has crappy films sometimes. But Disney/Pixar is amazing. So cute.

Haven't seen wall e yet. Need to check it out. Hopefully Nolan and deltoro do what they do best. The mummy looks fun too. So far its not been a great summer at the movies. Ironman was good but not stellar IMO, hulk, same thing. 09 may be better.

Oh wow, you are right...Cars was pixar...
I just didn't group it with pixar because pixar is usually amazing.

I think cars had the best looking animation of all the pixar films. My daughter liked it more than me. The incredibles was my favorite. I still watch that. It takes pixar 20 years to out out sequals.

Summer movies have been a bit of in May and more so June, but as of late, with Wall-e and to a less point, Wanted, things have been getting richer. And of course the Dark Knight is going to deliver!

I think some of it may be the scope of the failures (Indy 4 for example).
I like the Mummy movies, and it looks like they spent a lot of money on VFX/CGI. I just hope they put as much effort into the story.
There are still a few cards to be played yet, so don't pronounce the summer a failure just yet...

I liked CARS. Had a nice story (although not very original) and some of their best animation. :)
Hellboy is going to be a good time but I don't think it has the fan base, especially after the first film, to make it a blockbuster. It will do alright because of the reviews it's getting, but it won't make Iron Man numbers.
As someone already said, Pixar films never feel like blockbusters. No matter how much money they make. It's kind of a guarantee it's going to do well. A sure thing, basically. Blockbusters are movies that are pure Hollywood. Pixar is in a category of their own.
Dark Knight will save us all this summer. It's already sold more pre-tickets than Spider-man 3. Man, it's going to be HUGE!

Hmmmm....
Wanted - pretty wretched, story-wise, and got tired quickly, visual-wise.
Hancock - 1st 45 minutes or so were great. As soon as it gave up on ANY humor, it dropped like a stone. Really - a great premise, and great initial execution, that really fizzled story-wise.
Wall-E - loved it in the theater, and immediately after... but a week later, it didn't seem quite so memorable
Get Smart - worst piece of crap I've seen in years. In all aspects.
Iron Man - worked; was entertaining. Not something really grabbing in hindsight.
I will get clobbered for saying this. Really, I'm cringing in the corner as i type, waiting for the rain of flames... but thinking back with perspective on all the movies I've seen in the last few months... The Happening is the one that remains clearest in my mind and that i'd find most interesting to see again.. that is, that still piques my interest even weeks after I saw it. For me, that makes it the best one so far...

I liked the 2nd Half of Hancock better than the first. But You might catch a beatdown for the Happening thing. :Drogar-Evil(DBG): Even though I did'nt think it was that terrible. I liked Wanted.

yeah as far as summer movies go I don't feel this year has been a let down thusfar, definitely not. how many other summers have you had both critical and audience favs? Hancock, from what I've heard is really the only letdown of all the releases.

The Dark knight really helped.
