I'm setting my HVX200A up. I need to get Barry Green book!!! Is there a DVD that Barry did that shows film footage for different setting?
Anyway when I go to scene file 5, I get Cine V and when I go to scene:2vrolijk_08: file 6, I get Cine D. Is there a diiference between these two setting (Cine V, Cine D)?
Can someone give me a good film setting that I should try out? I did see one person that had a setting on this form but just got to see if I can find it again.

Why not shoot the same scene on the different scene settings and take a look for your self with footage and a scene that is familiar to you.
Barry cant come to every shoot with you... :-)

Cine V has a gamma curve that emphasizes contrast, and many consider it the most filmic (think rolled off highlights and crushed blacks). Cine D emphasizes dynamic range (the range between pure black and pure white) and is used to preserve color information that will later be graded. Cine D looks more "gray" coming out of the camera while Cine V pops. If you are looking for the most filmic look out of the camera I would recommend starting with Cine V and maybe turn down the master ped to your liking.

Cine D is also noisier.

Alexberman and Nexis, thanks for your input. I will work on those settings.

Take a look at "Spark" too. Surprisingly less noisy than the others, and nice overall. I think it's f3 or 4 by default.
