My original comparison. (http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showpost.php?p=1189797&postcount=89) Between a J series Canon 20x SD lens and the 17x Fujinon "Kit" lens.

Now here I compared my Angeniex 10x5.3 HD lens to the same Canon SD glass:

i dont know about rez cause of the compression - but the contrast looks much much better on the HD lens

Hi Matt, I assume in these tests you ran the same cam setup, just swapped out the lenses? Anyway if so the HD glass looks less light hungry by about 1/2 a stop. Is that what youre seeing daily?

Absolutely spot on Noel, I just switched lenses w/o changing anything on the camera. The Angeniuex is slightly better contrast and about 1/2 a stop faster.

It was about $7000.00, but that was QUITE some time ago.

i just found out that this angenieux lens is off production, new it cost ~20k $, used one on newprovideo.com is at 10k $. though talked to the lady, she said cosmetic condition is not the best...

Theres one on ebay right now. I believe it is $8900.00.
