I gotta tell you, I got goosebumps. I read through this site everyday, just trying to pick up tips, or maybe help someone out who is less knowledgable than I (A rare breed, that). But I find myself looking for and respecting certain people's posts. I start to think that I might know them a little (although I can't think of TC and not picture a big black guy wearing suspenders and flying a helicopter in Hawaii. Which is pretty far from the reality). But when I read something like that I do get to know you guys a little better. I see that it's not all talk and clips and grabs. It's a guy crawling on his belly in the grass trying to get a shot of a little furry thing because HE LOVES TO DO IT!

Man, I love this site.

Great shots by the way

That's great to get recognition like that. You deserve it. :)

The comment in the article about some people not seeing the variety of animals at the lake that you have captured is interesting. I'm always amazed how people miss what happens directly around them. For example, on a recent bike ride home, I spotted a large Blue Heron only a few feet off the path. It was poised ready to strike. Walking towards me were several people. I stopped ahead of them to watch the Heron. The group of people walked right past the bird without even spotting it. Their loss.

That's pretty common. I lived the first 26 years of my life in NYC. I never saw most of the "Sites" there until after I moved away, and went back to visit.

Loving what you do is one thing, having others respect you for doing it is another. Congratulations. Your videos are beautiful and every frame (or field) shows the love you have for nature. The scenery that surrounds the northwest is breath taking and you capture it perfectly.

You make me miss Seattle.

You know what I'm saying: *:D

And with your work, it is as if you revived Poetry, and by Poetry I mean personal art work, from elimination as an actual genre and stopped the deconstruction of it to the current spiritual aerobic exercise that it has become—nobody really wanting it, nobody doing it and everyone believing they can do it better. *And then you came along. *

You go out and tell stories with your camera and never stop telling stories. *Now that should be inspiration to us all, because if not that, then what are we doing?

Oh, and uh shooting from a plane *;D ;D ;D

It's fun! *Just be sure you don't eat anything gnarly before going up!!

I'll try and find my old thread about shooting in small small planes. *Maybe I can get you in touch with some pilots if you need in the Seattle area. *(Good guys who'll hopefully just take you up for free because these guys are gentlemen like that - these pilots. *They're a good community like us. *And the Hell's Angels. *Haha.) *That's if you need. *

Anyways, CHEERS.

Edit: Never eat anything gnarly.

No words can describe... should have sent a poet...

Just kidding. Very awesome, getting recognition for doing what you love is a great thing.

And apparently I'm a black helicopter pilot who lives in Hawaii and wears suspenders. Or perhaps Jim watches too much TV. ;)
