We're working on a horror short and I'm editing it all together now. *Can anyone recommend some good CD's with horror sounds in it? *I'm not looking for creaky doors and screams, but sound effects... Any time in a scary movie, when someone walks past or jumps out, they have a certain noise. *It's hard to explain, but its usually the same, a bassy sound.

I know its a horrible explanation of what I'm looking for, but any suggestions? Just watch any horror movie at a "jump moment", and you should know what I'm talking about.

Thanks in advance,
Taylor

..you should just make the sound. if youve got decent audio equipment its usually pertty easy to combine a cuope sounds and tweak then to be your own original suprise sound. ;)

otherwise you could check out sounddogs.com to see if they have anything in the realm of what your looking for.

What you can do and sometimes I do this too is take any audio file and slow it down in either an audio program or NLE program and you'll get some intresting scary ambient sounds. Give it a try if you havent yet. The slower the creeper.

Thanks, this helped so much. First, this sounddogs website is amazing... Glad to know about that now.

Also, I slowed down some audio I recorded and it sounds great.

Thanks for the suggestions
