Well as a newbie to this site I am trying to figure out how to vote on the films. I have posted a comment to every entry on the download page that I could find a thread to. But still haven't figured out how to vote or were to do it. Help the new guy on the small bus find the missing link.

It should be on the downloading page. There should be stars next to each of the entry, and you just select how many you want to give to each entry.

If not, contact a moderator.

Yeah there are no stars there when I go there.
Thanks,
Pauly

You had less than 100 posts when the viewing began which would disqualify you from voting, I am sure Larry will make the adjustment for you if you shoot him a PM, but don't quote me on that.

50 posts is actually the minimum for voting.

You submitted an entry though, so you aren't subject to that. You are eligible to vote as a submitting filmmaker.

Just shoot a pm over to Larry and let him know that you are unable to vote and he'll get you fixed up.

The new system RULES. Very easy to understand, and easy to accomplish. No more tricky document files...

No kidding - I absolutely love the new voting system. It makes it so easy to re-rate the films, which is essential given the number in this fest... Thanks moderators! You rule!

I'm glad most seem to be digging the changes to the system. We put a lot of thought into it behind the scenes, so it's good to see it's paying off with you guys, and it's also great to see how much better it is working than the old system as we monitor things from the backroom.

Jason

To clarify - we had to have the minimum number of posts (50) before the viewing began in order to vote?

I think this makes it clear...

I used to be 100 votes OR having submitted an entry.

What if you're not a submitting filmmaker or affiliated with any of the films, but would like to be able to vote? Did you have to have the 50 votes prior to the opening of viewing?

What if you're not a submitting filmmaker or affiliated with any of the films, but would like to be able to vote? Did you have to have the 50 votes prior to the opening of viewing?Yes and no. This makes it so a filmmaker can't have 100 buddies sign up and vote his film to the top.

BUT! I believe as long as you have 50 posts before the voting deadline that you are good to go.

Hopefully a Mod will clear up that little detail.

Thanks guys I think it is going to be OK. Larry is awesome from what I have seen here and it will be taken care of. And i was able to watch all of the films and comment on them all so at least that part is done so, if I can't vote it won't be that bad. dvxusers rock.

Sorry guys, that was my bad. I thought it still had to be 100 but it was changed. And I completely forgot about the submitting filmmaker loop hole.
