Here's an actress I shot today. I think I'm finally getting closer to the results I want with just a bounce card and natural light. I actually like this one :)

That's pretty awesome man. I love reflectors.
What's making you want to move away from the off camera flash?

In all honesty, I used to be able to balance natural light and my sb600 pretty well until recently. All of sudden I can't make it work. I mean, I've tried everything and it came right down to color. I've worked over every possible setting in the camera and flash, but all of my mix of natural light/flash combos were driving me crazy.
I'm off to soccer right now but I can post an example later if you'd like, to see what I mean. I almost threw my flash out the window yesterday, it's gotten that bad. It used to work great for me, but now, I can't make it happen. It's like I totally lost my mojo. Anyway, i'll post an example later, maybe you can give me some advice how to balance this flash. But, I'm starting to dig this new approach, it's kinda liberating not having to deal with extra stuff.

I thought you were giving up headshots to concentrate on writing? Or am I thinking of someone else?

My brother actually takes over half the business starting later this week which will allow me to work on my writing assignments and projects. However, I'll still shoot with him every few days, depending on the flow. i was going to sell the business but then i worked a deal out with my Brother, so he moved to los angeles to take over.

Nice shot again alveraz.
Does this mean you wont be posting anymore in the still photography section?
I think it might die without your posts.

Well, that's a bit much but thanks :) I'll still post images in here for sure, it's the only place I like to share what I do. We're still booked a couple weeks in advance right now so there's no lack of business, it's just my brother will be doing most of the work now while I refocus on writing :)
