I'm trying to learn color correction, but I don't have mac so I use colorista, does the 'Color' book offer general insight enough that I can know more about cc to use on the program I use..

The APTS Color book is pretty specific to that application, although it does discuss general principles as well. You might also want to check out Steve Hullfish's two books on digital color correction. One is introductory and the other a bit more advanced. His books deal with specific applications, but are not limited to Color.

I'm going through The Art and Technique of Digital Color Correction right now and although he talks about using different apps in his examples (Avid, Color, Da Vinci, etc.,) he keeps the core of the lesson platform agnostic. I definitely recommend his books.
